Biography

Lawrence Agbemabiese holds a graduate degree in development studies from the University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and a Ph.D. from the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy (CEEP), at the University of Delaware, USA.

He is currently a programme officer at the Energy Branch of UNEP’s Division of Technology, Industry and Economics, where he helps design, implement and evaluate alternative business models for sustainable energy services in several African countries. Lawrence also liaises with universities and non-governmental organizations on a number of multi-disciplinary initiatives. These include: the design of performance indicators and methods for evaluating the development impacts of small and medium-sized energy enterprises; and an investigation of links between development paradigms, energy policies and the evolution and sustainability of energy regimes.
