Online Cleaner Technology Information

TT:Clear
Spreading the word on climate change technologies
Go to UNFCCC-TT:Clear website

Inadequate access to reliable, up-to-date information is a major barrier to the effective development and transfer of environmentally sound technologies under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). To resolve this problem, the UNFCCC secretariat has designed and developed a Web-based technology transfer clearing house called TT:CLEAR that aims to improve both the quality of the information available and access to it.

TT:CLEAR complements and works with existing Web sites and clearing houses. It gives rapid access to up-to-date information on relevant projects and case studies, technologies, organisations and experts. Its database of methods, models and tools allows users to assess the options and strategies for mitigating and adapting to climate change. There is also a database of links to relevant Internet sites.

Sustainable Alternatives Network (SANet)
Go to SANet website

Sustainable Alternatives Network (SANet) is a UNEP-DTIE project funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). SANet’s mission is to increase the quality and flow of environmentally sound investment projects in developing countries and countries with economies in transition, thereby supporting the goals of Multilateral Environmental Agreements including the UNFCCC. SANet assists business managers and experts in making informed decisions regarding investments in cleaner technologies by offering three kinds of different but interlinked services:

- internet-based information services that support exchange of know-how,
- small financial incentives for investment planning, aiming at removing “last barriers” that hamper investment decision-making, and
- face-to-face communication at the country level through Local Desks, which connect and broker different SANet services and articulate needs of the local business community.
