50 MW Wind Farm in Argentina

($35,000 advisory support for $68,000,000 total investment)

Summary: The Project will sell electricity on a merchant basis into the Patagonia Grid, which operates in the three southern-most provinces in Argentina. Despite the potential involvement of strong sponsors and the excellent wind resource at the project site, the financial viability of the project is very tight due to the low electricity price prevailing on the Patagonia Grid. This wind power project would be the largest wind farm in Argentina and the first large-scale wind plant to operate as a merchant plant in any developing country.

Purpose: Third party reviews for equity investors on wind resource data, country and energy sector risk assessment and carbon emissions reduction potential.

Status: Development on hold due to macroeconomic situation in Argentina.
