GHG Indicator
UNEP Guidelines for Calculating Greenhouse Gas Emissions for Businesses
and Non-Commercial Organizations
In
responding to the challenges to global climate change, businesses
and other entities will increasingly have to account for and report
on greenhouse gas emissions, both for internal management purposes
and to respond to self-imposed or governmental mandated emission
reduction targets.
"The GHG Indicator: UNEP Guidelines for Calculating Greenhouse
Gas Emissions for Businesses and Non-Commercial Organizations" can
help organizations in estimating and reporting their GHG emissions,
and so stimulate action on climate change.
The Guidelines provide a method for converting information on fuel
and energy use readily obtainable by companies to estimated GHG
emissions. The Guidelines provide a step-by-step approach based
on easy to use worksheets. The Indicator can be applied at different
levels of a company regardless of size or location, as well as government
agencies, NGOs, and other entities interested in estimating their
GHG emissions.
The Guidelines were developed with experts in manufacturing companies,
accountants, academics, consultants, environmentalists, financial
institutions, government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
GHG Indicator Software version aids data entry and calculation,
and is fully compatible with the original version of the indicator.
Extensive help menus makes the workbook easy to use and present
results.
