	Good practice in emergency preparedness and response Alan C. Emery UNEP and ICMM case-study report 2005, 93p., English, ISBN 0-9549954-2-2 The publication covers everything from identifying who does what in an emergency, to training and proper community liaison. It includes a model emergency plan that was developed in line with UNEP’s APELL (Awareness and Preparedness for Emergencies at Local Level) process and is a companion volume to UNEP’s APELL for Mining (2001). Hard copies of the report can be ordered from ICMM. Publication available in English and in Spanish.
	CRAIM Guidelines Risk Management Guide for Major Industrial Accidents intended for Municipalities and Industries Conseil pour la réduction des accidents industriels majeurs (CRAIM) 2002 Edition This risk analysis and management guide for major industrial accidents intended for municipalities and industry was developed by CRAIM (Council for Reducing Major Industrial Accidents/ Conseil pour la réduction des accidents industriels majeurs). With a mission to foster the reduction of the frequency and severity of major industrial accidents involving hazardous materials, CRAIM aims to improve the joint preparedness and response status of municipalities and industry. The primary objective of CRAIM is to promote the implementation of prevention, preparedness and response (PPR) programs related to industrial risks in the province of Quebec, according to recognized standards and norms. 	OECD Guiding Principles for Chemical Accident Prevention, Preparedness and Response - Second Edition 2003 2003, 209p., English, ISBN 92-64-10181-0 The Guiding Principles have been prepared by an ad hoc expert group, established by the OECD Environment Committee, whose mandate included the development of guidance on prevention, preparedness for, and response to accidents involving hazardous substances, including the same issues associated with investments and aid programmes related to hazardous installations in OECD countries. The objective of these Guiding Principles is to set out general guidance for the safe planning, construction, management, operation and review of safety performance of hazardous installation in order to prevent accidents involving hazardous substances and, recognising that such accidents may nonetheless occur, to mitigate adverse effects through effective land-use planning and emergency preparedness and response.
